Why Don’t We Unveils North American Spring Headline Tour

Rising boy band Why Don’t We has big plans for 2019 with today’s announcement locking down dates for the group’s most-extensive North American headline tour yet. 

The March-April excursion goes along with Why Don’t We’s debut full-length album, 8 LETTERS, which hit No. 1 on iTunes’ overall albums chart, along with charts in more than 20 territories worldwide. 
Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery and Zach Herron have spent 2018 on stages across the globe, with gigs in the U.S., South Korea, Japan, China and Australia. Up next is a European excursion that includes stops in Spain, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Pollstar spoke to Randy Phillips and Dave Loeffler earlier this year about how the partners in entertainment companies PDM Inc. and Signature Entertainment are shepherding Why Don’t We up the ladder by eschewing conventional recording and marketing norms, instead riding the wave of social media marketing and a perfect storm of talent.
“We did a campaign where we teased their fanbases and showed little clips of the five of them coming together,” Loeffler said. “Little hints on Twitter and Instagram. Fans saw them getting on planes together, coming to LA together, getting into a house together. When we announced they became a group, the fans went crazy.”

Fans have also gone crazy buying tickets. The group’s spring 2018 trip through North America boasted sold-out shows at Pittsburgh’s 2,300 Stage AE (grossing $67,850), the 2,425-capacity House Of Blues Boston (grossing $73,294) and the 2,224-capacity Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (grossing $65,674). 
The spring 2019 tour kicks off March 20 in Phoenix. Here’s the plan:
