Dickey Betts Pushes Back Dates After Mild Stroke

Dickey Betts, the guitarist/singer/songwriter of Allman Brothers Band fame, has suffered a mild stroke and will have to move back his next three scheduled performances to take time to recover.
The delayed plays for The Dickey Betts Band are at the New York State Fair Aug. 28 in Syracuse, N.Y.; Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Conn., Aug. 30; and Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, N.H., Aug. 31. New dates have not yet been announced

Betts expects to resume touring after five weeks recuperation period to avoid post-stroke repercussions, according to a statement.

“Dickey really regrets that he can’t be there for his fans,” manager David Spero said in a statement, “but he has to take care of his health first.”

The next stop on the tour will be Nov. 1 at William B. Bell Auditorium in August, Ga. 

The Dickey Betts Band has played gigs including a show at Beacon Theatre, The Peach Music Festival and Great South Bay Music Festival this year. The Band includes Dickey’s son Duane on guitar, Pedro Arevalo on drums, Frankie Lombardi and Steve Camilleri on drums, Damon Fowler on guitar and Mike Kach on keys.
