Lights All Night: Diplo, Tiesto, Gucci Mane For Dallas NYE Fest
Lights All Night will ring in the New Year with Diplo, Tiesto, Gucci Mane, Rezz and more for its ninth annual event, Dec. 28-29 at Dallas Market Hall.
Produced by Lights All Night Presents, others on the lineup announcement include Anti Up, Shiba San, What So Not, Funtcase, Mr. Carmack, Nora En Pure and many others. However, there are ominous blank spots on the lineup poster near the top, suggesting two headliners are yet to be announced.
Diplo released the star-studded California EP in March, and continues to prep for the long-awaited release of his new collaborative disco album featuring Mark Ronson. Ronson, together with Diplo, form the super-DJ duo Silk City.
Diplo is a bit of a Lights All Night veteran, as he played it in both 2011 and 2012. That 2011 event reported 26,511 tickets sold and $2.62 million grossed with a lineup also including Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Neon Indian, Zeds Dead, Porter Robinson, Flux Pavilion, Excision and many others Dec. 30-31.
Atlanta-based trap rap star and New York Times bestseller Gucci Mane has been a festival staple, playing everything from Lollapalooza to Rolling Loud to Shaun White’s Air + Style festival in Los Angeles.
Paradigm agent Matt Galle, part of the team that books Gucci Mane, told Pollstar, “He just goes over so well and has such big crowds” at festivals. However, a fall headline tour is in the works and to be announced soon, according to Paradigm.
Tiesto has also been heavy on festivals, this year playing events including Summer Splash in Las Vegas at venues including Hakkasan and Wet Republic as well as other Vegas dates, along with European fests such as Tomorrowland in Belgium, Airbeat One in Germany and Tinderbox in Denmark.
Last year’s event brought more than 30,000 revelers to see top hip-hop and dance artists including Bassnectar, Marshmello, Porter Robinson, Illenium and Maxo Kream, Ugly God and Smokepurpp.
Organizers say each of the previous Lights All Nights have sold out.
