Destructo Announces Dates For The ‘F**cking S**t Up Tour’
Destructo – aka president of LiveStyle North America Gary Richards – is ready to f**k s**t up from coast to coast. The DJ and music executive/concert promoter unveiled the routing this week for a national U.S. tour that begins Sept. 8 at The Republik in Honolulu.
The “F**king S**t Up Tour” is named after Destructo’s new single featuring Busta Rhymes, which has already racked up over a million streams on Spotify. The setlist for the outing will feature “the hottest tunes and some old classics.”
Cities on the routing include Reno, Nev.; Boston; Atlantic City, N.J.; Orlando, Fla.; Cincinnati and Chico, Calif.
Destructo has a handful of headline dates lined up this summer, along with appearances at festivals including Global Dance Festival in Denver, Electric Zoo in New York and his own All My Friends Music Festival in Los Angeles.
He wraps up the year with his debut Friendship Cruise. The Dec. 11-15 voyage aboard the Celebrity Equinox is brought to you by LiveStyle’s AMFAMFAMF Presents (All My Friends) with a lineup curated by Richards. The music cruise sets sail from Miami and heads to Coco Cay, Bahamas, for two private island beach parties.
Pollstar chatted with Richards in March, shortly after passes to the Friendship Cruise sold out in less than 48 hours. Richards spoke about Friendship and making the transition from Hard Events to LiveStyle while still remaining an active artist.
Richards noted that his position with LiveStyle goes hand in hand with his career as Destructo.
“It’s funny, my brother used to manage Slipknot and when we used to go out on the road with them, they would always say, ‘You guys are in the ivory tower, you need to get out with the band and get dirty,’” Richards said. “I think it’s important for anyone to my position [as a concert industry executive] to not always be in the ivory tower, go out in the field and feel the bass and be in the crowd and pay attention to what’s going on … and just to understand all the nuances. It’s kind of tough to always just be here and not really understand what the people who are going to do the events are seeing and feeling but also the people in our company who are running the events.”
He added, “I can relate to them when they’re having problems, or when things aren’t going the right way, because I’ve had those issues and problems and been there and done it and seen it. So I can understand better how to help them, and by being there and getting to meet people.”
Tickets are on sale now. Visit Destructo’s Pollstar artist page to check out the itinerary.
