Live Nation has signed a multiyear deal with Brûlée Catering to provide food service for The Met Philadelphia, a historic theater going through a $56 million renovation.
Brûlée, owned by Spectra, the Philadelphia facility services company, is a high-end catering group that serves the city’s museums and other cultural attractions. It’s headed by chef Jean-Marie Lacroix, a James Beard Award winner, and longtime Aramark executive Jack O’Brien is the group’s vice president of catering.

The food vendor will feature a full-service menu and bottle program as part of its premium hospitality platform, in addition to booking functions before and after events at the theater and private rentals. The venue’s redevelopment includes bars on all four floors of event space, stocked with local craft beers and top-shelf cocktails.
The agreement extends to Brûlée Music and Food Experiences, a program with expanded options tied to concerts at the Met Philadelphia. The first event under that brand is ballroom dancer Derek Hough, set for June 14, 2019, at the facility. Patrons can expect a wide variety of food, music and cultural additions that highlight the artist, according to Spectra officials, with sample menu items for Hough’s performance that might include: “Utah Scones with whipped honey butter and Brûlée’s spin on Utah’s famous Crown Burger with Fry Sauce as an homage to Hough’s home state; as well as specialty Latin cuisine and artist-themed craft cocktails as a nod to Hough’s career as a former World DanceSport Federation World Latin Champion, star of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and numerous other roles on television, movies and theatre.”
Brûlée, founded in 2011, was acquired by Spectra last summer. The firm’s clients include the Museum of the American Revolution, Memorial Hall and the National Constitution Center.
The Met Philadelphia, a partnership between Live Nation and developer Eric Blumenfeld, restores the original Philadelphia Opera House, originally built by Oscar Hammerstein I in 1908. The venue is set to open in December. At this point, the initial events have not been announced.
