Gov’t Mule Extends Tour Plans Into September

Seattle, Oakland, Phoenix, Tulsa, Dallas and Louisville are among the stops on Gov’t Mule’s September leg, kicking off in Missoula, Mont.

The leg’s first date – Sept. 1 at Missoula’s Big Sky Brewing Amphitheater – is also Gov’t Mule’s last gig with The Magpie Salute, ending a run that begins Aug. 17 at Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre in Charlotte, N.C. 

The last destination for Warren Haynes & Co. is Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond Festival Sept. 23, the same day Sting, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Counting Crows, Blackberry Smoke and Don Felder play the two-day party.

Gov’t Mule’s early 2018 travels have already resulted in boxoffice reports to Pollstar.  The band’s April 27-28 shows  at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., sold all 3,426 tickets available and grossed $146,000.  Results weren’t as rosy at Gov’t Mule’s April 26 gig at the Palace Theatre in Albany, N.Y., where fans purchased 1,846 out of 2,807 available, resulting in a $77,839 total gross.

Although Gov’t Mule’s itinerary is packed with dates ranging from early June through late September, the band won’t be playing the same set all summer long.  Select stops in July and August are tagged as “Dark Side Of The Mule” dates where the band will will play selections from Pink Floyd’s iconic album.  The Avett Brothers and The Magpie Salute appear on those dates.
