Dave Chappelle And Jon Stewart Set Two State Run

Dave Chappelle and Jon Stewart will co-headline shows in three cities in two states come June.  The adventure kicks off with three nights in Boston followed by two in Houston and a pair in El Paso.

The dynamic duo of Chappelle and Stewart will perform at Boston’s Wang Theatre June 11-13; Houston’s Smart Financial Centre June 21-22 and El Paso’s Chavez Theatre June 23-24.

Both funny guys are Comedy Central vets.  Simply called “Chappelle’s Show,” the 30-minute collection of comedy sketches ran 2003-2006 and production ended following the comedian’s unannounced trip to South Africa.  Chappelle would eventually cite a number of reasons, including burnout and creative control issues, for why he did not return to the TV gig.

Stewart hosted Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” from 1999 to 2015 when he handed the program over to current host Trevor Noah.  During his tenor at the Daily Show news desk, the satiric program was often cited by young adults as a main source of news and information.

The June shows will mark the first time the two comedians have worked together since Chappelle’s 2017 residency at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.  Stewart appeared on Chappelle’s Aug. 17 show at the venue, along with Chance The Rapper, DJ Trauma, Hannibal Buress, Mo Amer, and John Mayer.  Fans purchased all 5,893 tickets available, resulting in night’s gross reaching $772,614.

Ticket sales are being handled via Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program.  Registration began today and runs through 10 p.m. EDT May 16.  Once registered, fans can purchase tickets beginning 10 a.m. local time May 18.
