‘American Idol’ Plots July-September Run
“American Idol” takes the show on the road when the uber-talent competition launches a three-month adventure featuring the singers that have captured heats across the land.
The trek begins July 11 at the Redding Civic Auditorium in Redding, Calif., and concludes Sept. 16 at the Warner Theatre in Washington., D.C. Destinations include Denver, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Nashville and Omaha.
Having debuted on Fox Television in 2002, “American Idol” moved to ABC this year. Data submitted to Pollstar for the 2015 “American Idol Live” tour reflected the program’s declining ratings on Fox. The Aug. 23 stop at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre sold 478 tickets and grossed $34,034. The production’s July 22 stop at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, N.J., sold all 1,252 tickets available and grossed $87,772.
Tickets go on sale May 11 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP options are available. Produced by Faculty Productions in conjunction with Core Media Group, the “American Live 2018” tour is repped and booked by United Talent Agency.
