NS2 Enters Booking Agreement With Charleston Gaillard Center
National Shows 2 – Charleston Gaillard Center
Nashville-based promoter National Shows 2 is expanding its presence in Charleston, S.C., with an exclusive agreement to book the Charleston Gaillard Center.
The deal gives NS2 booking rights to all national touring artists, comedians and commercial children’s shows. The center will continue to promote local music and educational events in-house.
The 1,800-seat Charleston Gaillard Center underwent a $145 million renovation in 2015 and has since hosted shows by Lewis Black, Tony Bennett, ZZ Top and many others.
It’s the second venue to be booked by NS2 in the Charleston market, as the promoter books the 913-capacity Charleston Music Hall. NS2’s profile also includes the Carolina Theatre in Durham, N.C., CMA Theatre at Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville and Sandler Center For The Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, Va.
NS2 was formed in 2010 by Darin Lashinsky, who said in a statement, “Entering into this partnership with the state-of-the art Gaillard Center affords NS2 the opportunity to continue to bring artists to a community that has been an integral part of our success. We look forward to growing Charleston’s vibrant entertainment scene and increasing awareness throughout the music industry that this not a market to be overlooked.”
Added Stephen Bedard, Charleston Gaillard Center’s President and CEO, “This partnership with NS2 will only boost the Gaillard Center’s strong start in presenting contemporary and comedic talent. We are excited to be working with a high-quality promoter in NS2.”
The decision to enter an agreement was made after NS2 partnered with the venue on a sold-out Diana Krall concert earlier this year, according to the statement.
Upcoming shows at the venue include Bruce Hornsby, Bill Burr and Black Violin.
