Cardi B gets sassy during her performance at The Player’s Ball at The Armory in Minneapolis Feb. 4.
The suit was filed April 26, according to Variety, and names Cardi, QC heads Kevin Lee and Pierre Thomas, and publicist/stylist Patientce Foster as defendants. It claims that Klenord “Shaft” Raphael helped mold the career of the rapper and reality TV star, only to have her later spread misinformation about him and breach their existing contract.
Cardi B just wrapped dual sets at Coachella and announced she will be cancelling all appearances after Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C., April 28, because of her pregnancy.
She is engaged to Offset, a member of Migos, the group headlining Broccoli City Festival.
The move to drop Shaft came as a surprise, as just several months prior Cardi’s agent, Mark Cheatham of CAA had told Pollstar that her managers were “The driving force behind Cardi,” and that they “saw the potential and believed in what they had.”
Pollstar reached out to Quality Control for this story, but hadn’t heard back at publication time.
