FKP Scorpio GmbH held 42.5 percent of shares in Northside Entertainment, while FKP Nordic AB held 37.5 percent of shares in Tinderbox.
FKP remains involved in both events, however, as the company still owns a minority stake in Danish concert promoter Beatbox Entertainment ApS, which has been booking and will continue to book the bands for Tinderbox and Northside.
The decision was made in mutual agreement of all shareholders. FKP Scorpio’s CEO Folkert Koopmans said: “We would like to thank the Danish team for their good collaboration so far and are happy that we will continue to cooperate with Mads Sørensen and the rest of the Beatbox Entertainment ApS team.”
Northside Festival 2018 takes place June 7-9 in Aarhus, and has confirmed Björk, Queens Of The Stone Age, The National, Beck, Liam Gallagher, N.E.R.D among others. Tinderbox goes down June 28-30 in Odense, with a lineup that includes Depeche Mode, Iggy Pop, Jack White, Steve Aoki, Wiz Khalifa, Biffy Clyro, Bastille and many more.

Björk, Queens Of The Stone Age, The National, Beck, Liam Gallagher and N.E.R.D are among this year’s lineup.
Speaking of Denmark: Beatbox Entertainment also books acts for two other Danish festivals, Haven and Komos. The latter, a folk and Americana festival, had to cancel its 2018 edition, which was supposed to take place, June 22-23, at Copenhagen’s Royal Garden.
Organizers say the government’s committee dealing with conservation has banned fenced events from the King’s gardens. Instead of hastily finding a replacement location, organizers decided to give themselves time until 2019.
Sigurd Hartkorn Plaetner, spokesman and press officer for Komos Festival, said, “Of course, we are extremely annoyed about the sudden decision, since we pulled together a great line up and prepared a really good festival.” He insists, that the festival wouldn’t be able to live up to its high standards, if it had to find a new site on short notice.
Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Seasick Steve, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and Ben Harper had been announced for the second edition, and Komos has been working hard on staging individual concerts on what was supposed to be the festival weekend.
Isbell is going to play Posten in Odense, June 22. A day later George Clinton is going to take the same stage. Ben Harper has been confirmed to play Copenhagen’s DR Koncerthuset, June 23. That same night, also in Copenhagen, Lindi Ortega will play Hotel Cecil and Lucky Chops are going to perform at Pump House.
Tickets for Komos Festival were available via Billetlugen, Eventim’s Danish operation. “Due to the circumstances, Komos has also decided to repay the fee charged on ticket purchases,” the festival has informed its customers. The 2019 dates for Komos have already been set for June 21-22.
