(from left to right) Louis Molino III, Trevor Rabin, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman,,and Lee Pomeroy.
The title says it all as Jon Anderson, guitarist Trevor Rabin and keyboardist Rick Wakeman celebrate 50 years of Yes.
Formerly known only by their last names, the trio rebranded itself as
But a bout with asthma forced Anderson to bow out of a planned 2008 tour, ultimately resulting in Yes replacing the singer with Benoît David, who left the band due to illness in 2012 and was replaced by Jon Davison. That Yes counts Davison, along with guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, and keyboardist Geoff Downes. Billy Sherwood, who played in Yes from 1997 to 2000, is playing bass.
“Quintessential Yes: The 50th Anniversary Tour” begins in Warsaw, Poland, June 3 and begins its North America run Aug. 26 with a special show at West Hollywood’s legendary Whisky A Go Go. Yes headlined the Whisky back in 1971.
