Rick Ross was reportedly hospitalized early March 1 after he was found unresponsive at his Florida home, although there are conflicting reports.
TMZ originally reported that police were called to the rapper’s house where they found him drooling from the mouth and unresponsive.
“Rick Ross has been hooked up to a machine that’s taking over the function of his heart and lungs … according to sources connected to the music mogul,” TMZ reports. But fellow Maybach Music artist Fat Trel refuted that in an Instagram post, saying he talked to Ross and that he was not on life support.
Ross returned home from the hospital March 5, according to TMZ, though the details of his medical problems are still unclear.
His representatives did not immediately respond to Pollstar’s request for comment.
The rapper has a history of medical problems, including two seizures he suffered on separate flights in 2011. Ross has attributed his medical issues to an unhealthy lifestyle and a lack of sleep.
Health problems haven’t stopped the rapper from regularly touring, however, as he played plenty of dates around the country last year. His highest-grossing headlining show reported to Pollstar’s box office in 2017 was a gig at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall, which sold 6,063 tickets and grossed $434,157.
He also appeared on several festival lineups, including Miami’s 9 Mile Music Festival and New York’s Soulfrito Urban Latin Festival.
Ross is slated to play a Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival May 13.
