The Brown United-built stage, along with its two spot towers in the foreground, from the Route 91 Harvest festival remain unstruck two days after 59 music fans were killed and more than 500 injured in a mass shooting Oct. 1, as the police investigation continues in Las Vegas.
Two Route 91 Harvest Festival survivors filed a lawsuit against Live Nation, asking to secure refunds for the 22,000 who attended the three-day festival in Las Vegas that was the site of the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
The suit was filed by lawyer Mark Robinson on behalf of Kevin and Laura Thompson, who reportedly paid $531 to attend the Sept. 29-Oct. 1 festival, according to Fox News. Many who attended the event have already requested and received refunds, but Live Nation has yet to reimburse all who attended the festival.
“Orange County is home to a significant number of people who purchased tickets to the concert,” Robinson said in a statement. “We didn’t think it was fair that some who privately asked for refunds got them, when really everybody who bought a ticket deserves a full refund.”
In a statement released just days after the shooting, the promotion company said, “Live Nation will do everything in our power to support the victims and their families through the aftermath of this horrendous event and extends our deepest gratitude to the heroic first responders who helped save as many lives as possible.”
Several lawsuits were filed in the wake of the mass shooting, America’s deadliest in modern history, which killed 58 and injured hundreds of others. Live Nation was named as a defendant in a negligence suit filed in October, in addition to Mandalay Bay, MGM Resorts and the estate of the shooter, Stephen Paddock.
Live Nation does not comment on pending litigation.
