Robert Plant, Neil Young, Jack White, Kings Of Leon Lead Arroyo Seco Year 2

This year’s bill is a powerhouse mix of classic and alternative rock with Neil Young + The Promise Of The Real and Jack White headlining the Saturday roster, while Kings Of Leon and Robert Plant And The Sensational Space Shifters lead Sunday.

Launched last year at Brookside at the Rose Bowl, the festival was headlined by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers and Mumford And Sons. 

Coming a year after promoters Goldenvoice pulled off the massive, record-breaking Desert Trip, Arroyo Seco seemed to bridge the gap between Desert Trip and the earlier alternative versions of Coachella, which, in recent years has leaned more urban (this year’s Coachella is headlined by the Weeknd, Eminem and Beyonce). 

Now, however, Goldenvoice has a new home for the numerous classic and alternative rock artists they have built up long-standing relationships with. 

Joining the combination of Young, an alumni of Desert Trip, and Plant, and Jack White and Kings Of Leon is a strong undercard led by Alanis Morissette, Belle & Sebastian, Gary Clark Jr., Los Lobos, Neutral Milk Hotel and the Bangles, among others on Saturday.

Sunday will feature Aaron Neville, Kamasi Washington, Shakey Graves, the Pretenders, the Revolution and Violent Femmes as part of the day of music.

As evidenced by the heavy nostalgic contingent from both the ‘80s and ‘90s, Arroyo Seco is very much part of the new adultification of the increasingly crowded festival market.

And like other adult-leaning festivals, such as New Orleans Jazz Fest, Outside Lands and BottleRock, the food and beverage component is a vital part of Arroyo Seco.

The festival features a Los Angeles-based blend of food and beverages from such popular L.A. restaurants as Jon And Vinny’s, Fritzi Coop, Hanjip, Block Party, Bourbon Steak House and more.

Tickets for Arroyo Seco go on sale Friday, March 9 at 10 AM PST
