X Games Minneapolis Announces Kaskade, Brother Ali, Ice Cube, Zedd
After staging for the first time in Minneapolis in 2017, X Games is coming back July 19-22 with its world-class action sports competition as well as a musical lineup of Kaskade, Brother Ali, Ice Cube and Zedd.
The sports go down, fittingly, at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings’ football field that just hosted the Super Bowl as well as Justin Timberlake’s Halftime show.
The music will happen at Commons Park just outside the Vikings’ football field. Tickets go on sale today, starting at $20 for general admission and $50 for three-day passes, with upgrades and VIP options available.
The skateboard and BMX Vert events on Thursday, July 19, will be free and open to the public, as will X Fest, beginning at 6 p.m. Last year’s lineup at the inaugural Minneapolis X Games included A Day To Remember, dem Atlas, Flume, and Atmosphere.
Kaskade recently signed to Circle Talent Agency for booking agency representation, with agency founder Kevin Gimble telling Pollstar, ””I’ve been a fan of his since he came on the scene, and watching his career explode. It’s been something so nice to watch from the outside looking in.”
Kaskade recently sold 12,000 tickets for a July 15 gig at Alamitos Beach, according to boxoffice submitted to Pollstar, which grossed $877,555. He was more recently on festival bills including Tidal X at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which sold 14,527 tickets with a deep bill including Cardi B, A$AP Ferg, Jay-Z and others Oct. 17.
He also played LIfe Is Beautiful in Las Vegas Sept. 22-24, which reported 135,419 tickets sold and $16.8 million grossed.
The sports on display at X Games Minneapolis will include Skateboard, BMX and Motocross, with events including Big Air, Best Truck, Vert Park Freestyle, Street Quarterpipe, HIgh Air and many others.
