Kesha Postpones Dates After Injury

Kesha postponed a string of March and April dates in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Japan after suffering an ACL knee injury.

The 11 postponed shows were set to begin March 25 in Brendale, Australia and end April 20 in Osaka, Japan.

The pop star announced Feb. 20 that she was going into surgery, followed by rehabilitation, as a result of an ACL tear that she suffered because of fall during a show in Dubai Feb. 9.

Ticket holders in all countries are encouraged to hang on to their tickets and await information on rescheduled dates, which will be announced “in the near future,’ according to a statement.

“It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctor’s orders and undergo surgery, so I can get ready to give it my all on my summer tour and beyond,” Kesha said in a statement. “Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work. I love you all and I’ll work every single day, as hard as I can, to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always.”

Kesha is still scheduled for her co-headlining summer tour with Macklemore. The 30-market outing kicks off June 6 at the AK-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix.

She played a handful of dates last year, with her highest grossing headlining show reported to Pollstar’s box office taking place at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium. The gig sold 3,370 tickets and grossed $135,595.
