ILMC revealed the agenda for its 30th anniversary edition, taking place at the Royal Garden Hotel in London, March 6-9.

“With external threats from terrorism to Brexit, new technologies driving change, and topics such as gender and ethics questioning the very framework of the business, there’s never been an edition of ILMC when there was more to discuss,” said conference head Greg Parmley.

On site to tackle all of it are industry professionals including Festival Republic’s Melvin Benn, Coda’s Natasha Bent, CAA’s Emma Banks, FKP’s Folkert Koopmans and Stephan Thanscheidt, the Royal Albert Hall’s Lucy Noble and many more.

Panels will address what’s next in terms of security – and probably incorporate some of the results that came out of ILMC’s first Event Safety and Security Summit in October – ticketing and technology, and explore, whether the live industry has a problem with gender. One of ILMC’s most beloved session, the Breakfast Meeting on the last conference day, will see iconic manager Peter Mensch in conversation with long-time host Ed Bicknell.

This year’s Think Tank session invites industry heavyweights Barry Dickins, Pino Sagliocco and Jackie Lombard to discuss their routes to the top of the business in an intimate format. There are going to be workshops on Blockchain and crypto currencies, and on timeless topics such as artist riders.

The theme of the 30th edition is all about Close Encounters of the 30th Kind

The festival and venues summits, lunched prior to last year’s conference will return. Among other things, the Festival Summit will address market saturation and artist fees, while the Venue Summit is going to host sessions on venue data, innovation and consumer expectations, as well as sponsorship, branding and esports.

The annual Arthur Awards are going to be handed out on Thursday, March 8. ILMC’s organizers expect more than 1,000 delegates at the event’s 30th anniversary.
