Hall & Oates Hops On Co-Bill With Train

Train brings its “Play That Song Tour” to the Bethel Woods Center For The Arts in New York June 16.
It’s ’80s meets ’90s as Daryl Hall & John Oates are running alongside Train for a co-headline tour this summer. A special guest is also coming along, but the act’s name is being kept a secret.
The first date on the routing is May 1 in Sacramento, Calif., and continues for months, closing Aug. 11 in Seattle. Of course, the band is venturing away from the West Coast in between those dates, with gigs in New York, Nashville, and Chicago all locked in.
Citi cardholders get a presale Jan. 23. Tickets go on sale to the general public Jan. 29 at 10 a.m.
Train frontman Pat Monahan said in a press release: “I’ve known Daryl Hall and John Oates for a few years now and after being their fan my entire life, we now get to tour with them and spend time with legends in the world of music. This will be a career highlight for all of us in Train and a show that you won’t want to miss.”
Aside from the co-headline tour, the two bands will also be appearing at Daryl Hall and John Oates’ annual HoagieNation Festival in their hometown of Philadelphia. The even will also feature
Last year was a good one for Hall & Oates, as their co-headline tour with Tears For Fears got them to the No. 57 spot on Pollstar’s Top 200 North American tours. They reported nearly $23.9 million on the year and, incorporating estimates, we put them with $24.1 million grossed on the year, with 803,333 tickets moved off 31 shows in 30 cities.
Train was busy last year as well, with most of their touring coming in amphitheaters and arenas. The band reported $11.2 million grossed on the year, with O.A.R. and Natasha Bedingfield joining them for most of their North American dates. Their biggest payday of the year was at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles May 13, with a $711,102 gross and 10,991 tickets reported. Other big nights were at Northwell Health At Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., ($458,889 gross) and Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena At Harveys in Stateline, Nev., ($494,856 gross).
