Chris Robinson plans to dive deep into The Black Crowes’ incredible rock catalog and songs like “Jealous Again,” “She Talks To Angels,” “Remedy” and “Twice As Hard” when his new band, As The Crow Flies, mounts a road adventure beginning on the East Coast in April.
The Black Crowes frontman who has kept himself busy with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood has assembled a talent-packed band that includes guitarists Marcus King and Audley Freed, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, bassist Andy Hess and Drummer Tony Leone, plans to “breathe new life” into The Black Crowes legacy as well as explore the Robinson’s entire songbook.
“Spring will be sprung and the songs will be sung,” Robinson said in a statement. “This crow will fly high with old friends and new. Bring on, bring on! I can’t wait to hit the stage with some rock ’n roll for the ages.”
The tour launches April 17 in Port Chester N.Y., and includes stops in Philadelphia, Nashville, Denver, Las Vegas, Chattanooga and Los Angeles before wrapping in Portland, Ore., May 13.
A new band means a new box office history that has yet to be established. However, 2017 results submitted to Pollstar for The Chris Robinson Brotherhood show that band grossing on average just over $23,000 per gig on a run that included two sellout nights in Telluride, Colo.
