Live Nation To Promote Denver’s Summit Music Hall, Marquis Theater

Live Nation has entered an agreement with Colorado-based promoter Soda Jerk Presents to operate and book Denver’s Summit Music Hall and Marquis Theater.

 “We couldn’t be more exited to expand our venue portfolio with two of Denver’s best places to see live music,” Live Nation Colorado President Eric Pirritt said in a statement. “Both the Summit and Marquis continue to see growth year after year. With Live Nation operating and promoting these venues, the sky is the limit.”

Mike Barsch, owner of Soda Jerk Presents, said in a statement, “To have the number one promoter in the world carry on the legacy of these two venues is flattering to say the least. The timing is right for this to happen, and I know Live Nation is going to do a great job for all the music fans in Denver.”

Live Nation already books and operates the city’s 3,600-capacity Fillmore Auditorium.

Soda Jerk Presents will continue to promote the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, Moon Room in Denver and Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins. The company also promoted Riot Fest in Denver.  

The 450-capacity Marquis Theater opened in 2006, and has since hosted shows by This Will Destroy You, Citizen and K. Flay. On average, the venue sells 370 tickets each show, with an average gross of $6,749, according to Pollstar’s box office reports.  

The 1,100-capacity Summit Music Hall opened in 2010 and averages 911 tickets sold per concert, with a typical gross of $22,578. Notable shows at the venue include Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional and Machine Gun Kelly.
