WME Parent Now Known Simply As ‘Endeavor’

WME | IMG has announced the formation of a new holding company known simply as Endeavor, which will take on the full portfolio of owned and operated brands formerly under the WME | IMG banner.

WME | IMG entities such as WME, IMG, UFC, PBR continue to stand alone as Endeavor companies, a spokeswoman told Pollstar, adding that WME retains its name and daily business will not be affected.

“WME | IMG represented a pivotal moment in our company’s history, but it does not accurately reflect the extent of our diversity or indicate where we’re headed,” Endeavor CEO Ariel Emanuel stated. “In creating Endeavor, we now have a holding company that represents the very definition of the word itself, constantly striving to push boundaries on behalf of our clients and owned properties.”

The new entity will be led by CEO Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell as executive chairman, who added: “Our business at its core remains rooted in service and creativity. The one substantial difference is that unlike 20 years ago, we’re now sitting at the center of an incredible global network. We have the relationships and the platforms to help our clients and partners extend their reach and bring their creative initiatives to life.” Both continue to sit on the company’s board, according to the statement. 

The William Morris Agency and Endeavor Talent Agency merged in 2009 to become William Morris Endeavor. The company also moved headquarters to Endeavor’s offices.  

When WME acquired IMG in 2015 Emanuel and Whitesell took on the mantle of Co-CEOs of WME | IMG.  Because of the formation of the new Endeavor entity, Emanuel and Whitesell no longer carry the mantle of “co-CEO” for WME; the same holds true for IMG.

Now under the Endeavor umbrella are powerhouse entertainment agency WME, sports leader IMG, mixed martial arts organization UFC, Professional Bull Riders, Miss Universe Organization, as well as arts and media company Frieze, comedic management house Dixon Talent, and artist management and consulting agency The Wall Group.
