Joe Henry Pairs New Album With Dates

Recorded over four days at United Studios in Hollywood, Calif., Thrum features longtime collaborators Jay Bellerose, Levon Henry, David Piltch, John Smith, Patrick Warren and Asa Brosius. The record is out Oct. 27 via earMUSIC.

“I recognize at this point in my professional creative life, and in ways that perhaps have not been true before, that I am seeking lees to move along the paths of my earliest musical influences,” Henry said in a statement. “And more toward true alignment with the mystic poets Rilke and Whitman, Rimbaud and Rumi.”  

The tour begins with a solo set at the Americana Fest in Nashville Sept. 14. Henry will join his full band Dec. 2 for a show in Durham, N.C. Other stops include Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

Henry is appearing with The Milk Carton Kids and Rose Cousins on select dates.
