Dead Cross Reschedules After Patton’s Skateboard Wipeout
The band’s El Rey Theatre show is now set for tonight, Aug. 22, with doors opening at 8 p.m. and the show starting at 9 p.m.
Fans reportedly didn’t learn that Dead Cross wasn’t going to play Monday until after the opening act had finished its set, according to Diffuser. Guitarist Mike Crain told the crowd, as seen in a video filmed by an attendee, “Mike was in an accident, It’s not grave, but he’s unable to be here tonight.”

The band’s publicist released a statement today explaining that Patton “is getting stitched up and is raring to go! He thought he could skateboard to the show last night but he wiped out on the way. We appreciate all the kind words and well wishes for Mike!”

Tickets for Monday’s concert will be honored at tonight’s show. Refunds are available at point of purchase. A limited number of tickets are available for purchase.

Along with Crain and Patton, the band features Justin Pearson on bass and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.
Dead Cross was formed in late 2015 with Gabe Serbian on vocals. After a handful of shows with Serbian, Patton took over as frontman in December 2016. The hardcore band’s first tour with Patton began in Santa Ana, Calif., Aug. 10.
Venues on the August/September run range in size from the 650-capacity Gramercy Theatre in New York to the 1,600-cap Ogden Theatre in Denver.
Last week Dead Cross made headlines after police in Houston searched the band’s gear and restrained members of the group during the inspection Aug. 15, ThePRP reported. A statement from the band’s publicist said the musicians “have been advised by legal counsel not to provide further comment on the incident.”
