Cosby Planning Speaking Tour

Representatives for Bill and Camille Cosby appeared on a local television station this morning and announced that the comedian will hold a number of town hall gatherings to address the issue of sexual assault allegations.

The announcement came via “Good Morning Alabama” from Cosby publicist Andrew Wyatt.

“Mr. Cosby wants to get back to work,” Wyatt said on the program. “We are now planning town halls and we’re gonna be coming to this city sometime in July.”

“This is bigger than Bill Cosby. This issue can affect any young person, especially young athletes of today.  And they need to know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they are doing certain things they shouldn’t be doing. And it also affects married men.”

Cosby thanked the show and anchor through Twitter for allowing the publicists to appear, meaning that Cosby may indeed be headed to cities around the U.S. to give talks on the subject.

Attorney Gloria Allred was quoted in Deadline as saying, “Mr. Cosby’s so called workshops appear to be a transparent and slick effort to attempt to influence the jury pool from which jurors will be selected for his second criminal trial.”

“Under the circumstances Mr. Cosby should not be conducting sex assault workshops, but if he does do them then the best advice he can give to those attending is that if you do not drug and sexually assault women, then you do not need to worry about being charged with a crime.”
