Security Company Accused Of Faking Documents

A security company hired by U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis has been accused of falsifying documents and improperly screening its employees.

A complaint was filed against Monterrey Security Company, which has been contracted to work at the Minnesota stadium, with the Minnesota Private Detective and Protective Agent Services Board, and accusations against Monterrey include falsifying training records for individuals who never actually completed required training courses and improperly hiring convicted criminals, KSTP-TV reported.

“Last month, Monterrey Security was advised by the State of Minnesota of an anonymous complaint made to the state regarding our hiring practices,” a Monterrey rep told Pollstar in a statement. “For nearly 20 years, Monterrey Security has operated with transparency and welcomes any agency to review our processes. We have provided records to the State of Minnesota demonstrating that the hundreds of Minnesota residents we currently employ have cleared all required background checks and work in positions they are qualified to work in … Monterrey Security is proud to create these opportunities at U.S. Bank Stadium and the dozens of other facilities we serve across the country.”

A rep for U.S. Bank Stadium offered the following statement to Pollstar: “SMG has been made aware of the State of Minnesota’s investigation into Monterrey Security’s operations at U.S. Bank Stadium. We understand that Monterrey Security will cooperate fully with State officials for the ongoing investigation. Upon the completion of the investigation, SMG will take appropriate action as determined by the findings of the State. The safety and security of all guests and employees of U.S. Bank Stadium continues to be our top priority.”
