Wacken Lays Beer Pipeline

To serve thirsty metal fans and protect the soil, organizers of German Wacken Open Air are taking onsite beer distribution to another level.

“The pipes for our beer pipeline have arrived at Wacken! Soon we will start to install them in the infield – belowground of course,” an Instagram post alongside a picture of the pipes states.

A spokesperson for the festival told Germany’s bild.de that they no longer had to transport truckloads of beer every day onto the festival site, which helped protect the soil. Wacken 2017 takes place Aug. 3-5 in the German village of the same name in Northern Germany.

Confirmed bands include Volbeat, Alice Cooper, Accept, Megadeth, Amon Amarth, Marilyn Manson, Kreator and more.
