Stageco Provides Midday Shade For Orchestra On Cyprus

Construction experts at Stageco used the Micro Arch System for the stage at Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual Europakonzert (Europe Concert), which took place on Paphos, Cyprus, May 1.

Thanks to the variable covers, the musicians could play in the shade during midday. Because the construction in less material-intensive than others, transport costs were kept within limits.

It took three containers to ship the roof, according to Stageco.

The delicate design allowed the audience not only to enjoy the band on stage but also the unique backdrop, Paphos Castle.

Because the stage was built directly on the sea front, parts of the substructure had to be mounted under water.

Project manager Michael Herbst and Kai Eppinger, who took care of technical implementation, alongside construction supervisor Andreas Deubach and his crew were responsible for the planning and execution of the whole project.
