ASK4 Entertainment is putting on the first incarnation of the metalhead vacation event at Now Sapphire Resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, Oct. 29 through Nov. 2. The four-day festival bills itself as the perfect way to enjoy Halloween and the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), with special celebrations to honor both occasions.
Additional acts signed on for the getaway are Death Angel, Otep, and Tim “Ripper” Owens. The event will be hosted by Jose Mangin of SiriusXM radio.
Superjoint is Phil Anselmo’s new band and Metal Allegiance is a supergroup with members of Megadeth, Machine Head, Slayer, Death Angel, Exodus, and Now Sapphire Resort.
“I’ve been going down to Riviera Cancun for a few years now, and it’s one of my favorite places,” Charlie Benante of Anthrax said. “I’m really excited about it and I think that everyone’s going to have a great time.”
Passes are on sale now, and there will not be one-day passes available. Packages start at $1,399 per person and ground transportation to the event from the airport is included in your ticket. Discounted rooms are available if you want to extend your stay.
