Other acts to take the stage include Leftfield, a DJ set by dance icons Faithless, Maximo Park and more, including emerging acts from Birmingham such as Jaws, Superfood and The Americas.
Eastside City Park is fairly new. It opened in 2012 and can host some 10,000 festivalgoers per day. Event manager John Fell heads the team behind Beyond The Tracks.
The company has also been promoting Birmingham based Moseley Folk Festival for 12 years, Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul (eight years) and Lunar Festival (four years), a few miles outside the city. Lunar is taking a fallow year in 2017.
The same team also promoted some of the biggest outdoors shows in the city including performances by Chic feat Nile Rodgers, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Laura Marling, Johnny Marr, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Bonobo, Roy Ayers, Levellers, Ocean Colour Scene, The Proclaimers, Television and Super Furry Animals.
