Young The Giant Extends U.S. Routing

Good news for Young The Giant fans – the band has announced a round of additions for its North American summer excursion featuring special guests Cold War Kids and Joywave.

The August-September outing is the latest leg of dates for the alternative rockers’ “Home of the Strange Tour” in support of its 2016 album of the same name. 

A review from Entertainment Weekly declares, “On their third record, Home of the Strange, the group ascends from the third-tier trenches that waylaid their early career, dishing out their richest and most varied project to date. … They’ve dialed back their soundscapes to a more palatable 10-point scale, pivoting singer Sameer Gadhia’s thick-as-molasses midrange to center stage. It’s a spotlight he commands well, hissing through the revved up, pissed off blues of ‘Jungle Youth,’ flitting over the saccharine lilt of ‘Titus Was Born,’ and sashaying across the conga throb of ‘Nothing’s Over.’”

Before the summer routing kicks off, Young The Giant has a number of festival appearances lined up including The Hangout Beach Music & Arts Fest in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 19 and Laurelive in Novelty, Ohio, June 11.

The new dates are scheduled in Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, Ohio, Florida and Texas.

At least one more gig is still to be added. The band is listing an Aug. 26 performance in its hometown of Irvine, Calif., as a TBA. Here’s the confirmed headline itinerary, with the new dates bolded:
