Drake gives a shout out at Philips Arena in Atlanta Aug. 25.
The first of two shows at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome was originally scheduled for March 27, followed by another gig on March 28.
But Drake had to call the first one off at the last minute citing illness caused by food poisoning, according to reports.
Crowds were already gathering in the arena when a Mojo Concerts representative had to inform them that Drake couldn’t perform, which was met with boos and various items thrown onstage, as seen in fan video footage.
The show was rescheduled for March 29, with the Tuesday, March 28, gig going ahead as planned. Ticketmaster offered refunds to fans not able to make the alternative date.
Still, a reported 9,000 people witnessed Drake’s last concert of the tour. The superstar is on the top of the charts after releasing a 22-track “Playlist” and has been touring nearly nonstop since last summer.
