Michael Schenker Eyes UK Dates
He’s been rocking for nearly 50 years but he isn’t done yet. Michael Schenker is headed to the U.K. for a series of four shows with many musicians and vocalists from the original Michael Schenker Group.
The four-date run will be exclusively in England, from Nov. 2-5 in London, Sheffield, Manchester and Hull City, respectively.
Onboard for the performances are vocalists Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, and Robin Mcauley, all original MSG singers. Original MSG musicians Steve Mann, Chris Glen, and Ted McKenna will be joining on guitar/keys, bass and drums respectively.
Schenker is still doing his solo thing after turns with UFO and Scorpions. He hasn’t mended fences with his older brother Rudolf of Scorpions, but has most recently been working with Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock, which released Spirit On A Mission in 2015.
For the new mini-tour though, Schenker will likely be playing mostly MSG stuff. Of the endeavor he said, “It’s a miracle that after all these years, a tour like this will take place with the original members of MSG. Being able to go back to those days and celebrate the music is an exciting experience for us, as well as for old and new fans. To be able to re-experience, and for the new audience to get a feel of what I was like, is incredibly enjoyable.”
Here is the plan:
Nov. 2 – London, England, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Nov. 3 – Sheffield, England, O2 Academy Sheffield
Nov. 4 – Manchester, England, O2 Ritz Manchester
Nov. 5 – Hull, England, Hull City Hall
Tickets for Hull City are on sale now. Presales are ongoing for the rest of the gigs are on pre-sale now and go on sale to the general public March 20 at 10 a.m. local time.
