Superfly Plans Phoenix Fest

Superfly is taking the model for San Francisco’s Outside Lands and bringing it to Phoenix with Lost Lake Festival Oct. 20-22 at the city’s 75-acre Steele Indian School Park.

The company, which not only co-produces Outside Lands but also Bonnaroo in Tennessee, sent co-founder Rick Farman to Phoenix to make the announcement March 15, according to the Arizona Republic.

“We were inspired by the energy and creative shift that is happening in the Phoenix metro area to create a festival experience that truly represents the Valley’s culture, food, arts and music as well as the vibrant and outgoing lifestyle of the community,” the paper quoted Farman. “We’ve been working closely with our local partners and city leaders to develop this landmark event and are excited to be a part of such an impassioned and artistic scene.”

Lost Lake will present some 40 artists ranging from “iconic to of-the-moment” national talent as well as regional and local artists on multiple stages.

It will, like Outside Lands, also focus on the local artistic and culinary scene , including “the best in local food, cocktails and breweries,” according to the event website.

Artists and ticket details are expected to be announced in April, Farman told the Republic.
