Irving Music Factory. – The Music Factory in Irving, Texas, will host indoor and outdoor shows for crowds of up to 8,000, alongside new dining and entertainment options.
The Music Factory venue, in the Las Colinas area of the city, will have an indoor capacity of 4,000 but have motorized doors that will convert it to an amphitheater, allowing 4,000 more to watch shows from the outside grass area.
It will also house an eight-screen Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, diverse dining options, and possibly a bowling alley or comedy club.
The goal for the complex is to become a one-stop entertainment destination for residents of the Dallas suburb, as the area is currently lacking nightlife options, Noah Lazes, president and COO of developer ARK Group, told D Magazine.
The Music Factory will be the largest indoor-to-outdoor flex-amphitheater in the U.S. once complete, and will be the first time Live Nation has tied itself to such a venue.
Previous development projects on the site have stalled, the Dallas Business Journal reported, and the city estimates that the project will create 1,900 jobs and $14 million in annual sales taxes.
At press time there were reportedly still available spaces in the complex for restaurants or a bowling alley/comedy club. The first LN-booked show is expected to take place over Labor Day weekend.
