The band broke up in 2001 and had a brief run of reunion shows in 2012 before finally getting together for a lengthy international tour this year. At The Drive-In’s 2016 schedule included performances in North America, Europe, Australia and a few Asian countries.
There were a few canceled gigs this year because frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala was having issues with his voice.
On Thursday, At The Drive-In released a new song, “Governed by Contagions,” which will be part of an album to come sometime next year.

While ATDI was broken up, its former members participated in other projects like De Facto, The Mars Volta and Sparta.
