Shenandoah Announces 30th Anniversary Tour

Shenandoah is gearing up to celebrate three decades of making music with a tour that will take the band to venues across the U.S. The initial routing includes gigs in New York, Iowa, Texas and Ohio.

The country band was founded in Muscle Shoals, Ala., in 1985. 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut self-titled album, which includes the singles “They Don’t Make Love Like We Used To” and “Stop The Rain.”

Although next year marks a major milestone for the group, lead singer Marty Raybon & Co. don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.

“After 29 years in the music business, we find ourselves more determined than ever before,” Raybon said. “The past helps us to realize where we’ve been and sets vision to where we want to be.  Our mission in 2017, with new music, is to expand our fanbase while continuing to enjoy the performances and making our 30th year the best ever.”

In April Shenandoah put out its first gospel record, Good News Travels Fast. And the band recently released the single “The First Noel” to country radio for the holiday season. The song is included on the group’s 2014 Christmas Comes Alive EP.

The 30th anniversary tour begins Jan. 22 in Annapolis, Md. With more dates to be announced in January, here’s how the schedule stands today:
