Blind Pilot Sets Flight Plan
Looks as if the members of Blind Pilot might be able to squeeze in a little time on the slopes if only because the routing includes a couple of nights in Colorado skiing meccas Aspen and Telluride.
The band recently debuted the new video for “Packed Powder” via the Wall Street Journal. The video was directed by Christopher Good and was shot in the band’s hometown.
“To me the character in the song is talking about a past of trying on these different guises in a half-hearted attempt to please someone else,” Good said. “Deep down, though, he can’t shake the feeling that he’s destined for something else. I feel like the video kind of mirrors that in a way, it keeps trying to be a fairly straightforward, literal illustration of the song’s lyrics but repeatedly trails off into these flights of fancy, these surreal little tangents.”
“Packed Powder” is the first video from the group’s And Then Like Lions album, released in August on ATO Records. Blind Pilot recently performed the song and other selections from the LP during a Tiny Desk concert on NPR.
