Two Executive Appointments At TEG

TEG has made two senior appointments as the Australian/New Zealand ticketing, live content and data analytics company plans to move into a pan-Asian operation.

Tim McGregor, former group managing director of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, was named managing director of its TEG Live division. In the past two decades, he has been involved in major event touring, music festivals, motorsport, theatre and film. He also held senior positions with the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and the Falls Festival. TEG CEO Geoff Jones attributed McGregor’s skills as essential to TEG Live’s new growth phase.

“Tim has spent over 20 years working across all forms of live entertainment and has a deep knowledge of the industry across operational, commercial and legal aspects.” McGregor will concurrently fill the role as TEG’s chief commercial officer. He joined TEG in July as part of its acquisition of the Dainty Group, now rebranded as TEG Dainty. TEG also named Matt Cudworth as chief technology officer. He held a similar role at CSC, a U.S.-based provider of technology enabled business solutions and services.

Geoff Jones described Cudworth’s arrival at the Sydney office as “a significant step in TEG’s integration strategy across the three pillars of ticketing, live content and data. As a company with a focus on technology, the skills he brings are ideal for TEG as we continue our growth in Australia and New Zealand and our expansion into Asia.” TEG was previously Nine Live, part of Australian free-to-air television group Nine Entertainment.

It was bought by Asian-based private equity firm Affinity Equity Partners in April 2015 for A$640 million ($487 million). TEG incorporates TEG Live, ticketing agencies Ticketek and Eventopia, TEG Dainty, TEG Analytics, TEG Rewards, entertainment ticketing software platform Softix, Sydney’s 21,000-capacity Qudos Bank Arena and Life Like Touring, which focuses on family entertainment.

The Australian newspaper reported that in recent months, China’s Wanda Group and Focus, and Germany’s CTS Eventim, expressed interest in buying TEG . Cudworth’s predecessor, Greg Fahy, moves into a new international role with TEG as general manager of Softix and head of global markets. Fahy will relocate to Europe to introduce Softix into new markets.
