Edition Capital Invests In Live Entertainment
Dubbed First Edition EIS, the money will be spent on investors and investees in the live entertainment, television, venues and immersive media sectors.
The official announcement by Edition Capital states that “the fund will span both profitable and pre-profit businesses, from the rollout of existing established concepts through to the creation of new assets in the many promising areas of the media and entertainment fields.”
“We’re very much looking forward to identifying the next big things in the media and entertainment sectors. The Edition Capital team is highly experienced in developing emerging brands and helping them realize their potential,” Edition Capital Partner Harry Heartfield said.
With Edition Capital as an adviser, Impresario was able to double its shareholder value through selling festivals SouthWestFour, Field Day, Boardmasters and Rewind Festival.
Impresario Festivals Group CEO David Heartfield said: “We are delighted with the work that the Edition team members have done for Impresario since inception. This transaction delivers real value for shareholders and is testament to the dedication and hard work of the team.”
Other notable past sales handled by Edition Capital include 19 Entertainment, which went to CKX for £100 million in 2005, as well as Cream, which went to Live Nation for an undisclosed sum in 2011.
