Paul McCartney At Pappy And Harriet’s

Paul McCartney is warming up for this weekend’s “Desert Trip” concert with the ultimate desert gig – a last-minute SoCal show at the one and only Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace.

Pappy & Harriet’s Twitter bio describes itself as a “real roadhouse surrounded by mountains and sky in the Mojave desert.”  The venue is located in Pioneertown, Calif., roughly 20 minutes outside of Joshua Tree, with an indoor capacity of just a few hundred. Back in 1947 the unincorporated community of Pioneertown was founded as a living movie set designed to look like an 1870’s frontier town.

It’s a bit of an understatement to say this is the most intimate show of McCartney’s “One On One” tour.

The performance is set for tonight at 8:30 p.m. Priced at $50, tickets are limited to one per person and are only available via the venue box office beginning at 6:30 p.m. An announcement on McCartney’s site notes that no lineups are permitted before 3 p.m. Once you get your ticket you’ll have to enter the venue immediately. Tickets are cash only.

McCartney takes the stage for the second weekend of “Desert Trip” on Saturday, along with Neil Young + Promise of The Real. Indio’s Empire Polo Club hosts The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan on Friday. Roger Water and The Who close out the concert series on Sunday.
