Global Expands Festival Business
The acquisitions include SouthWestFour (pictured), Field Day, Boardmasters and Rewind Festival, which were previously owned by Impresario, as well as Y Not and Truck, previously owned by Count of Ten.
Without disclosing by how much, Global also increased its stake in Broadwick Live’s portfolio, which includes Electric Elephant, Snowbombing, Festival No. 6 and The Bacardi Triangle.
Broadwick also bought stakes in Standon Calling, Glass Butter Beach and Lost Village earlier this year. Together with Global the company will work on taking said festivals to new countries “in partnership with international brands,” the announcement reads.
The first joint festival export will be Snowbombing, which traditionally takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria, and will celebrate its first Canadian spinoff in April 2017.
Sam Bush, Director of Global’s live and touring division, said: “We have a shared ambition to grow the portfolio and we look forward to doing this with Gareth and the team at Broadwick Live as well as the founders and managers of the festivals we have acquired.”
