Old Dominon Rolls Out New Dates

The band’s first appearance with Steve Moakler is Sept. 22 in Cleveland, and the tour continues until Dec. 18 in Kansas City. The Moakler shows include a two night stand in Chicago Nov. 19-20 and stops at Houses of Blues in Cleveland and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

A part of the tour is sponsored by Stagecoach, the country festival put on by Goldenvoice which some might call the “Country Coachella.” Formally titled the “Stagecoach Spotlight: Old Dominion Tour,” those dates start Oct. 21 in Philadelphia.

Old Dominion proudly labels itself as an act made up of “road warriors,” so the band’s schedule is very full. The band’s manager told Pollstar in this week’s Hotstar feature that the group has penciled in 160 shows for 2016, down from 190 last year.

There are also a ton of festival and fair appearances scheduled throughout the rest of the year. Old Dominion has two nights scheduled with Kenny Chesney at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., Aug. 26-27 and a gig with Tyler Farr Nov. 12. Basically, the band is incredibly busy.

Old Dominion’s brand of country has rock influences is increasingly in high demand, and songs written by band members have been recorded by the likes of Keith Urban and Gillette Stadium.
