The excursion begins with a pair of shows Aug. 22-23 at the  in Las Vegas, and wrap up with a gig in Seattle Sept. 3. Many of these are free. After the tour, he will be back at Rockwood, with shows scheduled in September, November and January.

Morgan’s music is a mature brand of pop, and the artist has serious musical chops, as he graduated with high honors from Berklee College of Music.

Here is a sample of his sound:

The singer/songwriter has been a champion for artist compensation for years, beginning with the publication of an article on the Huffington Post in 2013 claiming that 27,900 plays of his music on Pandora only earned him $1.62. A chain of emails with Pandora founder Tim Westergren published in that article shows Morgan calling the millionaire out for supporting the Internet Radio Fairness Act, which reduced royalty rates, and then claiming to be interested in helping artists make a living.

Morgan later penned an article for the Huffington Post himself, which birthed the #IRespectMusic campaign to get artists paid for radio plays.
