The Who Realigns UK Dates With “Tommy” Sets

The Who has moved its upcoming five performances in Scotland and England to April of 2017 to line up with special benefit performances for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the .

The band will play an acoustic version of its landmark album Tommy at the charity performances, which will be on March 30 and April 1. A press release from the band says this will be its first full performance of the rock opera since 1989. The evening will also include other material from The Who’s extensive catalogue.

Frontman Roger Daltrey is a longtime supporter of the TCT and also helped establish Teen Cancer America. The Who headlined the first show for the Cancer Trust in 2000, and the upcoming performances will mark the 100th gig played for the organization’s benefit.

What were being called the “Greatest Hits” shows in the UK in late August and early September have been rescheduled to take place after the Royal Albert Hall gigs. Any tickets to the original dates for these shows will still be valid, and refunds will be offered until Aug. 12.

The other European gigs are still on, and the band’s next performance is scheduled for Oberhausen, Germany at  Sept. 10. The rockers will also be at , along with Bob DylanRoger WatersThe Rolling StonesPaul McCartney and .
