AWOLNATION Signs On To Prophets Of Rage Tour
AWOLNATION is revising its touring schedule to join Prophets of Rage for North American gigs from August to October.

Prior to teaming up with Prophets of Rage, AWOLNATION already had a summer tour scheduled and some of those upcoming dates have been canceled, most of which were this week. AWOLNATION promises that those markets where summer dates were canceled will still get a chance to see the band live in the fall and ticketholders to those shows are being offered special deals for the Prophets of Rage gig coming to their area.
Rage Against The Machine and Public Enemy are two of the most recognized music groups with strong political messages, and Prophets of Rage is the collaboration of guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, drummer Brad Wilk, all of Rage of the Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and B-Real of Cypress Hill.
Prophets of Rage also recently modified some of the fall plans, switching its Aug. 28 show to
“The influence of the individual artists in Prophets of Rage in Music, politics and society, on us personally and so many others has been massive,” AWOLNATION frontman Aaron Bruno said. “Together, they will undeniably unite even more people through the power of live music & positive energy on this tour. This is something we believe is important and needed now more than ever, and we are honored to get to be a part of that impact.”
AWOLNATION’s best-known single “Sail” has been used in everything from movie trailers to viral cat videos. The song was ubiquitous after its release in 2011, and still provides a pretty good snapshot of AWOLNATION’s sound: Heavy bass and drums production over rock solid synth and guitar lines.
Run, the band’s newest album, released March 17 and features new singles such as “Woman Woman” and “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” with infectious, toe-tapping beats that still use guitars to get listeners banging their head.
