A U.S. District Court in Cincinnati ordered the country singer to pay more than $980,000 to the IRS and serve three years’ probation after the artist pleaded guilty to one count of obstructing administration of Internal Revenue laws.
Court documents stated that Coe received earnings from at least 100 concerts yearly from 2008 through 2013 and either failed to file income tax returns or didn’t pay taxes when he did file. Prosecutors claim he also owed for previous years and spent the money on debts and gambling.
