Eventim Loses Live Income
The company earned euro 6 million from its live entertainment segment, compared with euro 7.6 million in the first quarter of 2015. Revenues in that segment still grew by 3 percent to euro 79.6 million year on year. Ticketing revenue grew by 11.6 percent to euro 84.8 million, while EBITDA grew by 11.5 percent to euro 32.5 million.
According to a statement accompanying the Q1 numbers, Eventim was able to increase the volume of tickets sold online by 20.2 percent to 9.4 million.
Overall corporate revenue increased by 7.6 percent to euro 163.2 million year on year, while EBITDA improved by 4.8 percent to euro 38.5 million. According to a corporate statement, the results confirm Eventim’s course, which consists in expanding internationally through “organic growth as well as acquisitions.”
Furthermore the online expansion of the profitable ticketing segment remains a key focus for the company. Eventim is confident that the growth in ticketing will offset any inhibiting developments in the live entertainment segment, leading to slightly improved net results at the end of 2016.
