Jimmy Dasher Becomes APA Nashville's Newest Music Agent

Jimmy Dasher joins APA Nashville as a music agent, after stints with Atomic Music Group and Buddy Lee Attractions, it was announced today by Steve Lassiter, APA partner and Co-Head of Worldwide Concerts. The hire marks the latest addition in a growth period for the company’s Music City outpost.

A onetime singer-songwriter, Dasher will focus on booking clubs and theaters in APA’s Western region.

“As a performer turned agent, Jimmy brings a wealth of experience to his work from both perspectives,” commented Lassiter in making the announcement. “I’m very happy to have him join our Nashville team and look forward to working with him.”

“I’m excited to work with the team Steve has established at APA, and look forward to continuing to grow as an agent as I develop new relationships with their artists and buyers. It’s going to make a great home,” Dasher says in a statement.

Dasher comes to APA from Atomic Music Group, where he built a roster that included Doug Stone, Terry McBride and Doug Kershaw among others. Prior to AMG, Dasher transitioned from musician to agent with Buddy Lee Attractions in 2016, before the agency shuttered two years later.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, where he pursued his passion for guitar and singer-songwriting, Dasher went on to record and tour on a couple solo studio albums, as well as serving as guitarist and bass player for a number of touring acts.

Lassiter was named APA partner and Co-Head of Music just last year, as the agency celebrated its 25th anniversary. In an October interview, Lassiter discussed APA Nashville’s growth with Pollstar.

“We started here with about eight clients and it’s grown to 65 or 70,” Lassiter said. “The staff has grown along with the roster, with a little more than 35 people here now. A lot of the growth has been in the last 10 years. We moved from our last office, outgrew it, to our new space that’s about 15,000 square feet. We doubled our space in the last three or four years.”
