Fetty Wap and his “For My Fans Tour” makes a stop at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit Jan. 24.
‘Trap Queen’ artist Fetty Wap has signed with APA for exclusive worldwide representation, the agency reports today (Jan. 14). Alex Chaykin and Sia Aghaiepour will serve as responsible agents, while the artist will continue to be represented by attorney Navarro W. Gray and Worldwide Entertainment Inc.
Fetty Wap’s debut single, “Trap Queen” was released independently in early 2014 and achieved some early sleeper success. Later that year, after signing with 300 Entertainment, the rapper re-released the track, which shot up the charts to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. By the end of the year, Nielsen Music had named “Trap Queen” as the No. 1 most streamed on-demand song of 2015.
Over the last year, Fetty Wap has largely been touring outside the United States, with extensive dates in Europe and Oceania including festival looks.
He then became the first male rapper with three songs occupying the top 20 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since Eminem in 2013. He also became the first male rapper in four years to have concurrent singles reach the top 10 of the same chart since Lil Wayne did so in 2011. With his fourth single “Again”, Wap became the first act in the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart’s 26-year history to chart his first four entries in the top 10 simultaneously.
In early 2016, “Trap Queen” scored nominations at the 58th Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
Fetty Wap’s latest single “Fresh N Clean” was released Dec. 20 and his next full-length album is slated for spring 2020 via 300 Entertainment.
